Business Coaching

How does the coaching relationship work?

The beginning of the coaching relationship starts with the coach and client designing how the coaching will work both in terms of content and logistics. As coaching is about the client’s agenda, the client will articulate what they want to achieve from their coaching, what their goals are, what they do and don’t want to discuss, etc.

Coaching then takes the form of regular meetings or phone calls with your coach, three or four times a month, called coaching sessions. Each session usually lasts for 30-40 minutes, although the format may differ from this if agreed by coach and client.

The agenda for each session is set by you, the client. It may concern any area of your life - the original goals you have set, or an agenda resulting from a current issue you are facing.

During the sessions, the coach will help you to explore the issues and support and encourage you to make the changes you want.

At the end of each session, you agree to commit to ‘do’ something different, or ‘be’ different. At the following session, your progress will be reviewed.
